As of February 14, 2019, my neighbor has seen a Rattle Snake, I’ve seen a Bob Cat, Feral Hogs have started to rut around, and there are several expectant White-tailed Deer and Antelope around. Warm weather, sunshine and lots of rain has everyone stirred up, and ready for Spring! This is a great time to clean out Bird Nest, check Feeders and fill Water Troughs to make sure your Wildlife are being taken care of.
It is also a good time to take those first quarter photos for your 2019 Wildlife Annual Report that needs to be filed by March 1, 2020. And as always, keep those receipts for Feed, Salt Blocks etc. Wildlife Management isn’t Results based, it is Activity based, so make sure you get credit for all those little things you do everyday!
Remember to watch out for Predators – they are ready for Spring too, so be cautious.
